Despite the heavy defeat conceded on the lawn of Liverpool (7-0), Raphaël Varane told his teammates to go and greet the supporters present at Anfield.
Manchester United sank like never before. While the Red Devils appeared to be one of the teams in form across the Channel, the Mancunian club received an incredible slap on the lawn at Anfield. Trailing 1-0 at the break, Erik ten Haag’s men sank in the second half only to lose 7-0, conceding Man Utd’s heaviest defeat in nearly a century.
The Mancunian players had their heads down, left the pitch with their heads down. But while some intended to join the locker room directly, Raphaël Varane made a strong gesture by urging them to go and greet the supporters present in the stands.
Raphael Varane shouted at his Man United teammates to go applaud the away fans at full time.
