Nuno Mendes was voted the best hope of the Ligue 1 season this Sunday evening.

On the occasion of the 31st UNFP Trophies ceremony, which takes place this Sunday evening, the left side of PSG, Nuno Mendes, was elected best hope of the 2022-2023 Ligue 1 season. The 20-year-old Portuguese international succeeds former Marseillais William Saliba.

Already named last season, Nuno Mendes this time beat Bradley Barcola (OL), Ryan Cherki (OL), Elie Wahi (Montpellier) and Eliesse Ben Seghir (Monaco). After receiving his trophy, the former Sporting player notably dedicated his victory to Sergio Rico, in a worrying state after being the victim of a fall on horseback.

โ€œWe are all with Sergio Ricoโ€

โ€œLast year I was nominated in this same category, but I didn’t win, thus confided Nuno Mendes. This year I am very happy to have won this trophy. I would like to thank my teammates and my coaches. We are all with Sergio Rico, we hope he comes back soon. ยป
