Tours crushed Chaumont this Saturday in the second leg of Ligue A (3-0). After winning the right to play a “Golden Set”, the TVB finished off their opponent to win the French volleyball championship.
A week after receiving a severe 3-0 at Chaumont in the first leg of Ligue A, Tours inflicted the same price this Saturday on its opponent (25-16, 25-16, 27-25). In danger, the first in the championship at the end of the regular phase takes this final to a beautiful one, called “Golden Set”, in order to decide between the two contenders for the crown. Champion of France in 2018 and 2019, the TVB will therefore try to improve its record against a novice club at this stage of the competition.

This Saturday after two sets relatively mastered by the Tourangeaux (25-15, 25-16), the visitors showed a more conquering face in the third act. Insufficient, however, to undermine the hegemony of Tours, in front of an audience in heaven. The deal was concluded with a narrow score of 27-25. Note that Chaumont never had an advantage of more than two points during this last round. Complicated to exist in such conditions.
And during this “golden set”, the locals surfed on their positive dynamics, finishing the injured beast. They logically took the upper hand over a powerless opponent (15-10) to become French champions again four years after their final national coronation.
