While Leroy Sané allegedly uttered racist words against Sadio Mané on Tuesday April 11, 2023, on the sidelines of the Champions League quarter-final first leg between Manchester City and Bayern Munich (3-0), the Bavarian club brought a denial this Saturday.
Shortly after the quarrel between Sadio Mané and Leroy Sané in the Bayern Munich locker room on Tuesday at the Etihad Stadium, the Senegalese media reported the racist remarks that Leroy Sané allegedly made against his teammate Sadio Mané. “Scheisse Schwarzer (black shit, editor’s note)”, would have notably launched Sané at the former Liverpool player in the middle of the match. An insult to which Mané reacted by wearing a blow to the face of the German international (50 caps, 11 goals).
Sané and Bayern deny
This Saturday, the newspaper Picture gave a denial. The German tabloid disputes the Senegalese version and assures that Leroy Sané did not insult Sadio Mané. The former Schalke 04 resident would have simply said to the Senegalese international (35 caps, 35 goals): ” Leave me alone “. A version corroborated later in the day by Hasan Salihamidzic, sports director of Bayern Munich, shortly before the confrontation against Hoffenheim (1-1) on behalf of the 28e Bundesliga day.
“We are aware of this allegation made by a journalist. We talked to Leroy about it. He assured us very clearly that he never said anything like that and we believe him. We spent two days talking openly with everyone involved and working on it. For us, the matter is settled”assured the leader at the microphone of Sky Sports.

Even if it is intended to be convincing, the declaration of the 46-year-old Bosnian leaves the fans of the native of Bambali in the grip of doubts, especially since the former Senegalese international Diomansy Kamara confirmed, after having exchanged with Mané, that Sané has well kept about “unbearable” against his compatriot. The speech of the Lion, dismissed for Saturday’s match following his bloodshed, is therefore eagerly awaited.
