As the scoreline indicates, the Reds struggled to overcome 19th in the standings. Diogo Jota gave his team the advantage twice (47th, 55th), but Jurgen Klopp’s men were surprised by goals from Neco Williams (51st) and Morgan Gibbs-White (67th). It was finally Mohamed Salah who gave victory to Liverpool (70th).

This success allows the Reds to stay in the race for Europe, temporarily returning to three points from fifth place, held by Tottenham, and six lengths from fourth, Newcastle.
