As the final of the CHAN 2022 who will oppose on Saturday Algeria at home against Senegal, it’s already time to take stock for the host country. While the Fennecs are candidates for hosting CAN 2025, which is to be awarded on February 10, the organizational aspect of CHAN has obviously been at the center of all eyes. And for the president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, it’s a great success for Algeria!
“I say with confidence that CHAN in Algeria is the best ever. In the history of CHAN in Africa, this is truly the best edition. The quality of football, facilities, stadiums, pitches, referees, VAR, hotels, transport. The best“, enumerated the South African in front of the media. “On behalf of the 54 African nations, I thank the Algerian authorities and above all I thank the Algerian people. For its hospitality and warm welcome. We all know that Algeria has a proud football history.»

A duel with Morocco for CAN 2025
On the other hand, the leader is obviously careful not to get wet concerning the CAN 2025, maintaining the neutrality which is incumbent on his function. “Of course, Algeria is a candidate for the organization of CAN 2025 with a few other nations. We will designate the host country through an ethical process, with total independence and credibility. But, I guarantee you that this process will be conclusive“, assured Motsepe.
As a reminder, Algeria will have as competitors South Africa, Zambia, the joint Benin-Nigeria bid and above all its enemy brother Morocco. While the rivalry between the two countries is at its height, the Cherifian Kingdom has been hosting since Wednesday the FIFA Club World Cupwith the ambition there too to make a strong impression…
