Despite rumors about his involvement in the recruitment of PSG, Kylian Mbappé assures that he is only a simple player.
“It’s not the Kylian Saint-Germain”, had railed Kylian Mbappé a few weeks ago, when an advertisement from Paris Saint-Germain for the renewal campaign for next season put him a little too forward for his taste.
Since he extended his contract, to great fanfare, in May 2022, many fantasies have been circulating around Mbappé’s weight in the big decisions made by PSG. The Bondynois is now the capital club’s No. 1 player, that’s for sure, even if it makes some teeth cringe, especially those of Lionel Messi and Neymar.
But is Mbappé more than just a player? With his friendship with Luis Campos, the Parisian sports decision-maker, what is his influence on recruitment? The 2018 world champion had already had to answer these questions last season when he extended his contract. Saturday evening, he was again asked about the upcoming transfer window, and what he expects from next season.
“No, no, no, nothing. Me, I’m just here to play. Like I said, I still have a contract and I’m coming to play. The club does what it can and I will just be satisfied with what the club does. The rest is none of my business.”he assured.
