This is the revelation of this beginning of the year 2023 at AC Milan. Recruited last summer from Schalke 04, Malick Thiaw managed to establish himself as a starter in the central defense of the Rossoneri.
Aligned from the start in the last seven games of the Lombard club, the young 21-year-old talent impresses with his serenity and he notably shone in the knockout stages of the Champions League against Tottenham (1-0, 0-0). Born in Düsseldorf, Thiaw is currently a German Under-21 international. Nevertheless, the 1m95 rock is of Senegalese origin by his father and therefore eligible with the Lions. Asked about this on Friday at a press conference, the African champions coach in title, Aliou Cissé, revealed that the first steps have been taken to solicit him.

“If I tell you that I had direct contact with him, I will be lying.“, all the same confided the technician. “Today, I say it and repeat it, the national team is not closed to any player. The qualities of this boy, we know them but, in this position, we have very good players. (…) Now, if we find much stronger elsewhere and who is willing to come and play with the Senegalese national team, there is no problem. If he maintains such a level of performance, the Milanese could well knock on the door of the Mannschaft soon and the time of choice will therefore come. Hoping that the Senegal will have managed to maximize his chances by then…
