Le Parisien reports that Roma coach José Mourinho is not Paris Saint-Germain’s first choice to replace Christophe Galtier, adding that no contact has been made with the Portuguese coach.
Asked about the Les Parisiens link last week, Mourinho joked to Sky Italia, “If they (PSG) called, they didn’t reach me.” Le Parisien are now reporting that no contact has been made with Mourinho, and he is currently not PSG’s first choice. One of the main reasons why he is not considered is – paradoxically – his close relationship with the club’s sports consultant, Luḯs Campos.
Campos was part of Mourinho’s behind-the-scenes team at Real Madrid, while the former also worked closely with the latter’s father. Their close relationship is not something they want to put to the test, and therefore, Le Parisien report that Mourinho is unlikely to lead the Paris squad as long as Campos is still around.
Galtier is still in the hot seat at PSG, and he could still be replaced in the offseason, but Mourinho may be unlikely to take his place.
