Gabin Villière was injured in training with the XV of France on Wednesday in Capbreton (Landes) and the winger is forfeited for the first match of the Blues during the Six Nations Tournament, Sunday against Italy in Rome.
The Toulon player, 27, is one of fourteen players made available to their clubs, according to the list communicated by the French Rugby Federation (FFR).
Villière (12 selections), who has just resumed competition after two months off, only participated in part of the training session for the XV of France on Wednesday, five days before the duel in Italy.
Injured in a leg and a hand since November, he started Wednesday’s session, the last high intensity for the Blues, with the chasuble of the probable holders but he stopped during training, visibly hit in an ankle .
In competition with the Lyonnais Ethan Dumortier, top try scorer in the Top 14, Villière was recalled on Sunday to prepare for the trip to Italy, having only played two matches with the RCT this season.
