Bienvenue dans l’acte II du Super Saturday, la partie où les choses commencent à devenir un peu intéressantes concernant le résultat du championnat. Pour essayer de garder cela aussi simple que possible, si l’Irlande gagne plus tard, elle remporte évidemment tout le spectacle, le Grand Chelem et tout ; mais si les hommes d’Andy Farrell perdent sans point de bonus, alors il est temps de sortir votre calculatrice et plusieurs diagrammes de résultats.
Si la France remporte la victoire avec un point de bonus – ce qui, après la semaine dernière, semble un résultat très probable – elle remportera le tournoi (rappel, uniquement si l’Irlande perd sans point de bonus). Si la France gagne aujourd’hui sans point de bonus, elle devra améliorer la différence de points de l’Irlande, qui est actuellement de 20 points supérieure à celle des Bleus. Encore avec moi? Non? Toutes ces permutations embrumées mises à part, la demande pour la France est simple : gagner par autant de points que possible, puis espérer un miracle d’inversion de forme à Dublin.
Beaucoup de gens se sont demandé si l’introduction de points bonus aux Six Nations était une bonne idée, mais ils peuvent rendre le dernier jour un peu plus intéressant. L’inconvénient est que j’ai dû taper “point bonus” dans un préambule de match bien plus que quiconque ne le souhaiterait, y compris moi-même.
