After the reactions of Kylian Mbappé, Demba Ba and several other football and sports personalities, following the racist treatment suffered by Vinicius Junior last Sunday, Didier Drogba’s speech was not long in coming.
The former Ivorian international (105 caps, 65 goals) banged his fist on the table and specifically targeted UEFA and FIFA for their blatant laxity in the face of this scourge. “This must stop NOW!” »thundered Drogba in a virulent post on Twitter. “When will the federations, leagues, UEFA, FIFA punish these clubs as they are quick to punish players when they refuse to defend a community that goes against their beliefs, for example? », he asked. Then to continue: “We’ve had all the speeches, outrage, kneeling, declarations, NOW WE NEED ACTION!!!!! Doesn’t the fight for equality concern everyone? I mean the fight against racism is not important enough? » “You cannot hide the sun with your hand. Keep shining my brother Vinicius Junior. We are TOGETHER in this fight”concluded the former Chelsea star, in a message of support addressed to the Real Madrid winger.
This has to stop NOW ⚠️ ❗️
When will Federations, Leagues, @uefa_official @fifa punish these clubs the way they are quick to punish players when they refuse to stand for a community that is against their beliefs for example?

Serial arrests
Shortly after the incidents of May 21, four people were arrested in Madrid for hanging a doll bearing the image of Vinicius Junior, joining three others arrested in Valencia for racist cries against the Brazilian at the Mestalla stadium. In addition, a stand in the enclosure, indexed for racism, was closed for five games. A sanction which arouses controversy in Valencia where the daily Superdeporte talk about“an unprecedented disgrace”.
