Football needs a tremendous amount of athletic ability and skill to be a professional player. Although all players train almost the same, a few stand out by devoting time and effort to excel in the game.
A few of these names are becoming global and known in every household. Names like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Karim Benzema, along with a few other names, can sum up this golden age of football.
Recently, Cristiano Ronaldo went through a difficult phase seeing his World Cup hopes crumble before his eyes in Qatar. It was considered his last World Cup as he was getting older. Yet, in a recent interview, Cristiano Ronaldo gave his fans a glimmer of hope. He spoke about his fitness and how he will continue to play professional football.
Ronaldo could not keep up with Benzema’s training
Karim Benzema is coming back from injury and yet one of the most shocking statements has just come from his coach. Javier Atalaya has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo would struggle to follow the routine followed by Karim Benzema. Atalaya had worked with Cristiano Ronaldo in his heyday when the Portuguese star played for the Spanish club.
While giving an update on Benzema’s injury, Atalaya said: “Karim is improving every day. He is at home, doing nothing, and he goes down to the gymnasium to train. The Frenchman’s mentality is to improve every day. Even Cristiano couldn’t stand Benzema’s training.“
This decision to compare Cristiano Ronaldo to his former teammate came as Karim Benzema considers his comeback. During a recent chat with the press, Ronaldo spoke about his desire to play until he is 40.
Cristiano Ronaldo is 28 years old!
The current series of events has diverted fans’ minds to when he claimed his biological was 23 years old. It was 2018 and Cristiano Ronaldo was making moves for his then super football team, Real Madrid. In an interview, he applauded doubters after an incredible performance.
While talking about how he still surpassed almost every other name in football, Ronaldo made the boldest statement. Then Ronaldo, 33, said: “Right now my biological age is 23.” This slap of a statement on the naysayers is enough to showcase his mindset in the current crisis.
