INEOS sporting director Dave Brailsford is pushing to bring former Chelsea manager Graham Potter to OGC Nice, but the club’s sporting director Florent Ghisolfi wants the FC Lorient manager, Régis Le Bris, takes the reins of the Allianz Riviera according to Get French Football News.

Didier Digard has been in charge of Nice since the departure of Lucien Favre in January. Digard, a former reserve team coach at Les Aiglons, was given the role until the end of the season after delivering impressive results in his first few weeks in charge of the bench. However, the club’s form has since plummeted and, heading into the final three games of the season, they have nothing to play for. A managerial change is therefore envisaged this summer.

However, there is discord in the hierarchy of the Gym. INEOS’ Brailsford is opting for a British candidate for Potter, who has been out of work since losing his job at Chelsea in early April. It’s unclear if Potter would be interested in the job. Much of Brailsford’s knowledge of football was acquired through his membership in an elite group of English sporting ‘leaders’, including England manager Gareth Southgate and West Ham United’s David Moyes.

Brailsford is however at odds with sporting director Ghisolfi, who was dropped from RC Lens in October. Ghisolfi wants to bring in Le Bris, who many believe exceeded expectations in his first season as manager with Lorient. Les Merlus currently occupy a place above Nice in ninth position. As a result, there is a stalemate at Nice in their search to replace Digard on the touchline.
