Montre mascotte. La mascotte bien-aimée du Bayern, Berni, s’est promenée autour de l’Allianz Arena, accaparant les projecteurs en début de soirée. D’après le site du Bayern, l’ours de 6 pieds 5 pouces et 16 pierres aura 19 ans dans quelques semaines. Je dois dire qu’il a l’air bien pour ça, mais depuis que cette photo officielle a été prise, il semble avoir un peu rempli et perdu beaucoup de cheveux sur le dessus. Mais bon, n’avons-nous pas tous. Préambule
Après avoir battu le Bayern Munich 3-0 à l’Etihad la semaine dernière, Manchester City est à portée de main d’une autre demi-finale avec le Real Madrid. Si proche. Presque là. City, qui a remporté ses dix derniers matches consécutifs, marquant 37 buts dans le processus, est le grand favori pour se qualifier ce soir.
Le Bayern abordera néanmoins le match de ce soir avec un peu d’espoir : des déficits similaires et pires ont été récupérés ces dernières années par des joueurs comme le Deportivo La Corogne (v Milan 2004), Barcelone (v Paris Saint-Germain 2017) et Liverpool (v Barcelone 2019). Mais pas par le Bayern, qui n’a récupéré qu’une seule fois un déficit de deux buts au match aller (contre Porto en 2015) et a échoué la seule fois où il a tenté de récupérer trois buts (contre Barcelone au tout prochain tour cette année-là).
Les neutres attendront un cortège pour les hommes de Pep, puis… bien que les fans de City, habitués depuis longtemps aux choses étranges qui arrivent à leur équipe dans cette compétition, ne prendront sûrement rien pour acquis pour le moment.
